Sincere thanks to Rosemary McCollum who has offered the use of her gardens at Ombersley for our annual summer garden party.
Parsonage is believed to date back to Tudor times and was a large working farm until early in the last century. Rosemary hopes that a link can be made between the property and an old pear variety called "Parsonage" and would like to discuss with any member who has knowledge of old pears. The setting is magnificent, set high up with views across the Worcesterhire valleys and hills - on the one side to the Malverns and on the other to Abberley Edge.
Rosemary took on the property in 1999 and has been developing the garden and orchards ever since. There is now an arboretum with long walks and lots of seats. The garden was recently featured in Gardens Illustrated.
The party will be from 7pm until dusk. Details of booking, cost and food contributions will be given at meetings. See Spring Newsletter for directions
